Wow, such a simple but a deeply exploratory question.
In this case it may be necessary to finding out your intent of how you see the world and
how you interpret your emotions. So I guess we can start with the question of “What does
it mean to perceive and react to the things and events around us?” How does this make
you feel and what can we create in response to that?
Its often that we feel strong emotions that charges us to impulse rather than sitting in discomfort. A fairly fleeting friend, discomfort. We are more than likely to hear a song with lyrics that you can easily relate to and identify some kind of relation to the song. We know the Artist created their piece based on a reaction to their surroundings, but how does that song and our relationship to it invoke emotion in us? What is our creative response?
One of my favorite things to explore and I invite you to do the same, but is to pick a random playlist, album (or a great option is DJ on Spotify!) Let the music take you in different directions. Start to identify what you feel and notice your reactions.
From personal experience, I have found this to be one of the most rewarding experiences because some playlists offer a variety of music, happy, sad, intense, and even some seriously goofy choices. All of them allowed me the chance to become more attuned to my emotions and would dictate my reactions. It also helped me to not only generate movement or some kind of creative response, but release my emotions in a way that helped me organize my thoughts and feelings more clearly.
What better way to come home from work, to relieve stress, to feed your creativity than to express yourself naturally through music choices. Music. A universal language, a mode of connection, a method of relaxation and stimulation and pure unadulterated joy.
So as we wrap up I invite you to reflect more on this topic in whatever way that allows you to really delve into the idea of what creating really means to you and how your creativity could potentially release your emotions so that people may be able to share in that feeling.

Jill Green's somatic knowledge paper
"Somatics is a matter of looking at ones' self from the inside out, where one is aware of feelings, movements, and intentions, rather than looking objectively from the outside in".
I couldn't recommend this incredible read enough...

Irene Dowd "Taking root to fly"
One of the many fundamental pieces of research to keep with you on your dance journey.
Hi!
*Those of you who know me, know well enough my "Hi" is a very high pitched "I love life" kind of tone...
My world is a very well-balanced mix between being a farmer, dancer, dance teacher, and student.
Just kidding its chaos, but the type of chaos I live for. The things that inspire my movement is based off of my daily interactions between objects and people.
I am a farmer, certainly not born and raised, however married into a life that has given me so much more of who I am rather than who I am not.
I am a dancer, again not born and raised but practiced, practiced and practiced, never taking "No" for an answer.
I am disciplined, I am broken, I am human, and I am in love with this very intricate concept of a life well-lived vs a life well studied. In knowing who you are and what role you play while you are visiting this fantastic planet.
So welcome to my world, I hope you enjoy some of the blog posts and find comfort in both the mundane and glory of being human, being a hard worker, and enjoying life to the fullest.
Love always,
E
